“Four student volunteers are needed to serve as ushers during each performance of “Sister Act” on July 21, 28, 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the South Campus Wilson Center. The performances are part of the FSCJ 17th Annual High School Summer Musical Theatre Experience.
The Volunteer Usher procedures are listed below:
Attire: If you are involved in any student organization at FSCJ, please feel free to wear your student organization’s polo style tee with a black bottom and comfortable black shoes. If you do not have an FSCJ organization shirt, black and white are the required colors – a black bottom with pockets (for ticket stubs), a white blouse/shirt and black closed toe shoes. Comfortable shoes are recommended due to standing for approximately 35 - 45 minutes at a time. A volunteer usher badge will be assigned to you for the performance. Please be sure to return the badge before you leave the building.
Call Time: All volunteer ushers are asked to arrive one hour prior to the start time of every performance. For example, if the performance begins at 7:30 p.m., the Call Time is 6:30 p.m. Once you arrive, please find the House Manager so you can sign in on the House Management Report. There are lockers in the Usher Room so you can store personal belongings during the event.
Performance Procedures: Ushers are asked to either: pass out programs, tear tickets, and/or assist patrons to their seats. At the end of every performance, ushers are asked to check the theatre for debris that may have been left by the patrons, sign out on the House Management Report and return the volunteer usher badge to the House Manager.
Intermission: If a performance has an intermission it usually last for 10 – 15 minutes. Bottled water is the ONLY item permitted inside the theatre.
Photography/Recording Devices/Illuminated Devices/Cell Phones: Recording and/or photographic devices are prohibited in the theatre unless given other instructions from the House Manager on duty.
