In recognition of Constitution Day, students are invited to participate in Honor Through Service: Veterans Care Drive, a Civic Engagement initiative supporting Veterans in our local community.
Constitution Day provides an opportunity to reflect on citizenship, civic responsibility, and the role each of us can play in strengthening our communities. Through this initiative, students can put those principles into action by donating personal hygiene and essential-care items that will be provided to Veterans in our community.
Items Needed:
All donated items must be new, unused, and unopened.
- 1 Point each - Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Bar Soap
- 2 Points each - Deodarant, Shampoo or Body Wash
- 3 Points each - Package of new socks
5 points = 1 Civic Engagement hour
Students may earn a maximum of 2 Civic Engagement hours through this opportunity.
Examples:
- 5 points = 1 hour
- 10 points = 2 hours
Please note that Civic Engagement hours are based on the point value of eligible items donated, not the amount of money spent.
How to Participate
- Respond to this opportunity through FSCJ Serves.
- Donate eligible new and unopened items from the list above.
- Bring your donation to the designated collection location at any FSCJ Student Life Center Collegewide, during the collection period. Student Center locations can be found here.
- Make sure your donation is properly received/recorded so your participation can be verified.
- Civic Engagement hours will be approved in FSCJ Serves based on the qualifying items submitted.
Collection Deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026
Please do not leave donations unattended or submit opened, used, or partially used products. Items that do not meet the donation requirements may not count toward Civic Engagement hours.
