Join FSCJ Serves in supporting NAMIWalks Jacksonville 5K, an event promoting awareness, advocacy, and support for mental health. Volunteers will help create a safe, fun, and memorable experience for participants during the traditional walk and chip-timed race.
Volunteer Roles & Shifts:

Set-Up Crew – 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- Unload event materials
- Set up tents, tables, chairs, signage, and start/finish area

Check-In – 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Greet participants and assist with event registration/check-in
- Provide information and answer questions (Fills up quickly!)

Route Cheerleaders & Support – 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (can be split into two shifts)
- Stand along the route to cheer participants
- Hold signs, use clappers, and offer encouragement
- Assist in directing walkers/runners if needed

First Aid Station – 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM (multiple shifts possible)
- Monitor and provide basic first aid as needed
- Preference for volunteers with medical or first aid experience

Breakdown Crew – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Dismantle tents, tables, and equipment
- Load materials into transport vehicles

Trash Clean-Up – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Collect trash and ensure the event site is left clean
- Wherever Help is Needed – Flexible timing to assist with various tasks

Volunteer Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (for route and station roles)
- Comfortable engaging with the public in a friendly, positive manner
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes
- FSCJ Serves t-shirts encouraged for visibility (if available)
