About:
The Jacksonville Humane Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter animals.
#GivingTuesday Tasks:
FSCJ Volunteers will be assisting with walking dogs and helping provide cat enrichment.
Know before you go:
Please park in parking spots as far from the building as possible. Closer spots are reserved for customers and clients.
Volunteers will enter at the Adoption & Education Center entrance. When facing the building, this is the entrance on the left side of the building - look for the fountain.
All volunteers should arrive by 7:45 a.m. We will begin promptly at 8am and will wrap up around 11 a.m.
Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and be comfortable handling dogs of varying sizes and temperament. Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting wet or dirty and that are appropriate for the weather. A Giving Tuesday t-shirt will be provided to you.
We encourage all volunteers to bring treats, such as Pupperoni - it's a great way to make a new best friend!
Participants need to be at least 18 years of age. It is encouraged to bring a water bottle.
