George Foundation for Sight Restoration

Did you know that more than 25 million Americans have cataracts causing low vision or blindness, but not everyone can afford the 12-minute surgery that restores sight? Dr. Michael George, of Tylock-George Eye Care, and his team, makes a positive difference in the community by giving those with no or low resources, the life-changing gift of sight. His sister, Tasha George Green, works in both Jacksonville, FL and Dallas, Texas, to raise funds to help Dr.George and his team accomplish their mission of giving the life-changing gift of sight to those less fortunate.

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), “More than 1 billion people worldwide had untreated vision loss in 2020, even though 90% of the cases could have been prevented or treated” (2021). Sadly, financial hardship prevents many people from seeking treatment for vision loss or impairment. Dr. George and the Tylock-George Eye Care team are thrilled to provide cataract surgeries, medications, and ancillary services at no cost to qualified patients with financial hardship. With the help of money raised at NFL games concessions and other volunteer -run events in Jacksonville and Dallas, and donations, people with preventable conditions can avoid visual impairment or blindness. Dr. George and his team believe that everyone, regardless of socio-economic status, should have comprehensive eye care and treatment.
