The Leadership in Action Award was established to continue the legacy of Herbert W. Scheidel by honoring emerging leaders in the community who go above and beyond in their service to others. 

Each year this endowment grants one $5,000 and two $500 scholarships to students who demonstrate advocacy and volunteer their time to a single community nonprofit agency in the FSCJ service area. Students may apply or be nominated by a faculty or employee of FSCJ.

To be considered for the Leadership in Action Award, students must have been enrolled at FSCJ and seeking a degree or certificate during the time in which the volunteer service was performed.

Deadline to apply is February 15, 2025.
