The Leadership in Action Award was established to continue the legacy of Herbert W. Scheidel by encouraging emerging leaders in the community who go above and beyond. 

Each year this endowment grants one $5,000 and two $500 scholarships to students who demonstrate advocacy and volunteer their time to single community nonprofit agency in the FSCJ service area. Students may apply or be nominated by a faculty or employee of FSCJ.

To be considered for the Leadership in Action Award, students must have been enrolled in FSCJ and seeking a degree or certificate during the time in which the volunteer service was performed.

Deadline to apply is February 15, 2024.
