Build a relationship with one of our elementary students by meeting with them weekly or bi-weekly, Monday - Thursday, for one hour.
This program has a dual focus on academic achievement and social development. Spend sessions getting to know your student and assisting them with their homework. After a portion of academic work is completed, you and your mentee can enjoy educational games and activities that help affirm the importance of academic achievement and build positive relationship skills. Full school year commitment required.
Mentors are required to complete a 30-45 minute on-site training with MWYF staff before being matched with a mentee. Local background check is required. Program runs September-early May.
Please email volunteer@malwashington.com for the Champion Mentor application and with any questions.
