
Volunteer Hour Credit Guidelines
Thank you for supporting the H.O.P.E. Food Pantry. To ensure fair and consistent recognition of donations, volunteer hours are awarded according to the guidelines below. Please provide a list of donated items and quantities when dropping off your donation.
Standard Donations
10 donation items = 1 volunteer hour
Examples of one donation item include:
- 1 can of food (canned fruit, vegetable, bean, soup, sauce, condiment, etc.)
- 1 box of cereal
- 1 jar of peanut butter
- 1 box of pasta
- 1 box of granola bars
- 1 box of protein bars
- 1 box of Pop-Tarts
- 1 package of oatmeal
Each package or box counts as one donation item.
Large-Volume Donations
Some wholesale-sized items receive additional credit due to their size and impact.

Important Notes
- Volunteer hours are awarded based on the number and type of donated items.
- Individual servings inside a package are not counted separately.
- Snack boxes, protein bars, granola bars, oatmeal packets, Pop-Tarts, and similar products count as one donation item per box/package.
- Large-volume and specialty donations may be evaluated by Food Pantry staff.
- The H.O.P.E. Food Pantry reserves the right to verify donations and determine final volunteer hour credit.
