Giving Tuesday 2021 will be held on Tuesday, November 30th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m

Volunteers Needed!

 

November 30 is #GivingTuesday. On this day, FSCJ faculty and staff will have the opportunity to support the FSCJ H.O.P.E. Food Pantry by giving online, dropping off food items or volunteering their time at a mobile food giveaway.


*Opportunity to serve is open to employees of the college only. We look forward to the opportunity to serve our students and our community!

Because we are partnering with other organizations and during COVID-19, we want to maintain extra safety precautions; so all volunteers must be 18 or older

Park:  ALL VOLUNTEERS SHOULD PARK IN THE EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT next to the Childcare Center and after you park, go to the volunteer table and provide your name.

Requirements:  ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL WEAR MASKS, WHICH THEY SHOULD PROVIDE, AND GLOVES (PROVIDED BY THE COLLEGE); WE WILL MAINTAIN DISTANCING AND HEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS (if you feel ill, we kindly ask that you please DO NOT serve.) 

Attire:  Wear your Giving Tuesday shirts, jeans/comfortable pants, and closed-toed shoes (dress for weather as we will be partially outdoors.) T-Shirts will be provided on-site after checking in.

Attitude: Ready to serve with gratitude!

NoteMake sure your phones are fully charged to receive communication if needed.


1-hour block shifts – volunteers can select multiple shifts!

Tasks Include:

  • Traffic Flow Assistances – Help with directing traffic flow lines in multiple spots (traffic flow will be looped in the FSCJ parking lot and food distribution will be under the covered area in front of the main sanctuary).  We will share more details on-site for visual.  
  • Loaders – Moving food from refrigerated turkey truck; move food from pallets for baggers. 
  • Food Baggers – Bagging food so it is ready for loading. 
  • Runners – taking food from tables to vehicles.   
  • Pull up Traffic – Ensure vehicles are in the right position for loading, trunks open and people stay in their vehicles. 
  • Exiting Traffic – Ensure traffic is continually moving out safely after loading. 
  • Recorders –  Collect data from recipients for food provider (separate forms for students and community members)

 $1 provides 6 meals for our community. $25 provides 150 meals / $50 provides 300 meals / $100 provides 600 meals.
