Thanks for your interest in volunteering with BEAM! Please note that these BEAM volunteer opportunities are limited to high school and college age students. Students younger than 16 and older than 21 years old are not eligible to volunteer using this sign-up.
The BEAM student volunteer opportunity calendar will be available on a rolling basis starting in January 2022 and will include volunteer opportunities up to 1 month in advance. Bookmark this sign up and check back frequently to view openings.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR BEAM STUDENT VOLUNTEERS:
- Sign-up required - Students will not be allowed to 'show up' for a shift without signing-up. Only students signed up to volunteer are allowed during the shift (no 'extra' volunteers or friends).
- No show policy - Students that do not show up or do not cancel through SignUpGenius in advance will not be allowed to sign up for future student volunteer opportunities. If you MUST cancel, please CANCEL IN ADVANCE (not the day of) so that other students may have the opportunity to sign up.
- Dress appropriately:
- Face masks are recommended for all volunteers working inside.
- CLOSED TOE SHOES REQUIRED (i.e. sneakers) FOR ALL JOBS. NO FLIP-FLOPS.
- Weather appropriate clothing for jobs listed as "outside" such as Grace Garden or Thrift Donation Center.
- Comfortable clothing that allows bending and lifting of at least 10 lbs and standing for up to 2 hours.
- Come ready to work:
- You will be working in an active/working warehouse, pantry or loading dock area.
- For the overall safety of all staff and volunteers, poor or distracted behavior will not be tolerated.
- Volunteers are expected to stay on task and avoid using a cell phone during the volunteer shift.
